About The Artist Kate Ferguson

"I'd say our biggest aim in life is to ensure there's something of us left behind, something to say 'I was here and left a little magic'."

About the Artist

I have loved creating art my whole life but my true love for art as a career started in the last few years of high school. I fell in love with how paintings could transport one to another time, a different emotion, a place of wonder and amazement or really make one think.

After high school I wanted to study art at university however was strongly advised to pursue a career which could actually "make money", so I settled on a trade instead and went on to study a Diploma of Beauty therapy.

I dabbled in and out of art over the next 10 years until a tough and traumatic situation I was going through in 2019 saw me dive back into art full time as a coping mechanism. Then during lockdown's in 2020 I decided to give our home interior a new look and started upcycling furniture pieces, it was love at first flip! And I wasn't the only one who was loving the pieces. So combining creativity and my love of interior styling, I now extend my passion to giving outdated furniture new life to create one of a kind pieces.

I find inspiration in the magic of everyday life and romanticize simplicity. I work intuitively with my creative process to stay open to possibilities of wonder.

Coming home to my creative self has helped me heal. I denied my creative genius for so long and at the end of the day it was only I who suffered because of it. You only get one shot at this lifetime as this version of you and I want to make it the most beautiful, magical one ever.
